1. Which of the HR objectives facing Mr. Brush are really the most important to the success of the business? Prioritize them and justify your list.
The success of the business would be best helped by the recruitment of new workers to meet the additional demands on the company, followed by training of the new recruits and management of healthcare cost. Any initiative undertaken must follow the objectives of the organization. It is critical that organizational objective and HR initiatives support each other.
The business is growing and it is facing a tight labor market. In a tight job market employers face the growing problem of attracting and retaining the work force necessary for their businesses to grow and thrive. Once the HR department clearly understands their company's current (and future) employment needs, the next step is to decide on the appropriate recruiting strategies. Job recruiting has evolved beyond the newspaper job ad and paper resume. Today, companies and job seekers have an abundance of information at their fingertips. From social media and Internet job boards to recruitment firms, the broad scope of recruiting possibilities is endless. With so many options available to companies, it may be hard to pinpoint where to best focus company efforts and resources, but each option needs to be thoroughly researched and resources as needed should be applied.
Once the perfect employee is hired the next step in ensuring retention is training. Organizations that challenge a person and present constant learning opportunities will have the upper hand in the labor market. Why? Because growth in business is driven by innovation, and innovation, in turn, is driven by an obsession to succeed. Successful individuals are "learners" and will, naturally, gravitate toward others of the same mind. As such, companies which are practicing the principles of "learning…...

Single Most Important Requirement in Managerial Success

...is the management of human resources in the organization. It involves the organization of people in an organization for the attainment of its goals and objectives. However, people differ in attitudes, values, personality and behavior. These differences bring about problems in an organization. It is therefore important that managers should understand the behavior of each individual that composes the organization, including their own behavior. Some people even say that this is the single most important requirement that a manager should have in order for him to attain success in management. Does this contention by some people of management success acceptable? People are considered to be the most valuable resource in an organization. They are the ones who carry out and implement the plans set by the organization through its top management. They might work together and cooperate with one another as a group in order to achieve a certain purpose. Also, these people might be given the opportunity to make certain decisions that would control how the organization would acquire and use its available resources. In addition, the differences among the people in the organization in terms of their feelings, attitude and behavior might be a factor as to how they would do and shape things for the organization. For this reason, it is an important skill for a manager to develop a sense of understanding as to how each of the individual in the organization tends to behave. Managers must have the......

The oil that passes through the community of Baraale and leaked on Forests and farms which evidently lead to a problematic situation facing the local community. I will talk further about ethical concerns that the community faces and how they can improve and recover. Communities will be affected by shell as this means that the local communities will be destroyed as the oil would be destroying crops, farms and people’s houses. This means that that communities will have trouble growing crops which means that they will not have work as crops are very important for trading, ultimately this will mean that their profits will be hugely impacted in a negative way as crops take a long time to grow back too which will mean that local crop workers will be out of work and not be able to provide for their family. Also the oil spill will mean that the birds, eggs and fishes will be damaged, causing deformities. This again will impact negativity as it means that it will affect profits once again as they will not be able to trade with other countries. National communities will be impacted from the oil as it means that farmlands and......

Which Right of the Declaration of Man's Rights Is the Most Important?

...Which of the Declaration of Man’s Rights Is the Most Important In the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, the most important right is regarding man’s freedom within the law because it is the main component in the development and preservation of a society. In order for society to be properly established and prosper there is a need for “rightful liberty” and the co-existence of “limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others” (Thomas Jefferson). The need for rightful liberty is important in society because it promotes people to represent themselves independently in society. The citizens are the building blocks of society, and how they go about fulfilling their desires and needs determines how the society is constructed. Their freedom permits them to do what they want, leading to them improving and building society. Although society relies on man’s freedom, it also needs an organized and written system of limitations, in order to maintain a peaceful environment devoid of turmoil and torment. These limits are formed on the rights of men, and prevent the abuse of these rights. If there were no restrictions to what people could do in society, in no time there would be anarchy. The freedom of man allows citizens to work, developing society from the building blocks. The law works to preserve society, and maintain it as a safe and productive environment. These two components of this important right support the construction of society, creating its base, and......

Most Important Cybersecurity Vulnerability Facing It Managers Today: You and I

...Most Important Cybersecurity Vulnerability Facing IT Managers Today: You and I Cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the early years generally revolved around problems with computer hardware and software with no solid definition of what a vulnerability really was, much less which vulnerability would take home the “Most Important Vulnerability” title. In his thesis proposal on “Computer Vulnerability Analysis”, Krsul (1997, p. 2) starts his “Definition of Vulnerability” section by delving into the fact that there was no industry accepted definition that precisely defines “computer vulnerability.” Krsul goes on to ask us to review three of the most commonly accepted definitions of the day—remember, this is 1997!—that he will use to form the basis of this thesis (Krsul, 1997, pp. 2-3): 1. Bishop and Bailey define a vulnerability as “a characterization of a vulnerable state which distinguishes it from all non-vulnerable states.” (Bishop & Bailey, 1996, p. 2). Their report focuses on computer vulnerabilities from a state configuration view where computers are state devices, and a vulnerability is any flaw in software that allows a user (whether authorized or unauthorized) to transition the system from an “authorized state” to an “unauthorized state.” We commonly reference these types of vulnerabilities today as buffer overflow vulnerabilities, input validation vulnerabilities, improper system configuration, etc. 2. Longley and Shain define a vulnerability using several......
