My life experience have molded me into a hardworking, patient and dedicated person. Through all the sacrifices I have encountered as an Immigrant from Peru had taught me that good things happen to those who sacrifice and wait patiently. Throughout my Undergraduate education at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona I have attended seminars, classes and independent study of works such as neural network, risk management, and decision support system. I have a board of education letter for my participation in the program of international business and finance in my native country, Peru, when I was only 16 years old. Because I love other cultures and explorer new worlds, I traveled to Shanghai, China and Taipei, Taiwan in 2009. I wanted to explorer new ventures and understand China’s economy development. This was a great experience that has helped to become more knowledgeable and perform a better work at my current position: International Logistics Supervisor for Crocs. When I read about this trip to India, I knew I had to make all efforts to go. I’m deeply excited about this trip. I’m sure I will learn and bring unique ideas that will add to my MBA studies. I am prepared to excel and make it much further in the years to come with my university education. Through this brief statement I have shown: I won’t give up. This evolving positive outlook has reassured me and has given me the motivation I need to become successful. I hope by reading this you will also see that I am prepared to embark on my journey to a new…...

...My Writing Experience “The secret of becoming a writer is to write, write and keep on writing” (Ken MacLeod). I have been writing since I was in primary school which was simple, the teacher would write on the board and then I would copy and fill in the blanks where necessary, all the subjects and verbs would agree and all the punctuations were in place. As I moved on to high school writing was more difficult as I had to write and organize my own thoughts and ideas. I remember writing the same essay until it was correct. I would re-read and make the necessary corrections. I had to make sure it was easily followed by anyone. I remember one teacher in particular who spoke “perfect English” and she encouraged writing in the same which helped to build my vocabulary. She would give numerous essays to write at different levels and made little notations to follow when writing the next essay. This helped to build my writing skills. Up to date this is my inspiration to try to write as much as possible without flaws whether it be spelling or grammatical errors. There are a couple of things that I do feel I lack the confidence and skill to perform, such as organizing and expressing my ideas and that is what I hope to gain from participating in this course. I expect to be a well- rounded and scholarly writer and speaker who will be able to write and speak at all levels of society....

...Graduate School Writing a research proposal for a PhD or MPhil application: A guide for potential students Some Schools and Departments may require you to write an outline research proposal and submit this with your application to study for a PhD or MPhil. The content and structure of the proposal will inevitably vary depending on the discipline area and the nature of the project you wish to pursue. In some cases you may be provided with some guidance in terms of what information should be included in the proposal and, if this is the case, you should read this carefully and follow it. However, where this is not the case, the general guidance, and suggested headings, provided here should help you to structure and present your ideas clearly in your proposal. Your overall aim is to produce a research proposal that is clear and coherent in every respect. You should therefore avoid the use of overly long sentences and of technical jargon. It is important that the proposed research is realistic and feasible so that the outcomes can be achieved within the scale of a typical research degree programme, which is typically three years full-time for a PhD (or two years for an MPhil). Although you should write the proposal yourself, it is best if you discuss its contents with your proposed supervisor before you submit it. Your research question For most projects there is usually one main question that you would like to address, which can sometimes be broken down into several......

Eassy on Value

...What do people think about when they hear about the word values? Well what people do not realize is that they use values every day. Values are thinks that reflect who we are as an individual. Each person has different sets of values. Values are the things that we learn through life by watching other people. Values make up who we are today. The values that I fellow are respect, dependable, and tolerant. One of the important values that I have is respect. My definition of respect is; when I show another person how much I value him or her as an individual. I follow the motto; treat people the way I would like to be treated. One of the ways I show respect is when I am at a school play or any other school assembly I sit quietly and listen and do not disrupt; I even do this when I am not interested or do not know about the topic. Another way I show respect is when my parents tell me to do something I do it and never talk back. If I decided not to do something my parents told me to do, I would get in trouble or be yelled at. Another example how I show respect, when I go watch my cousin play soccer I pay attention to his game and cheer for him when he scores a goal, or does a good play. The way I, show respect the most is with my attitude towards my elders and peers. I have the up most respect for my grandparents. I show my grandparents respect but letting them sit down, while I stand, holding the door open for them, and helping them around the house. They are much older......

Knowledge Concepts: Knowledge concepts are organized, distributed and transmitted through the education systemand that’s why we need an NREN in Bangladesh. It is through education that an individualcan make better informed decisions, keep abreast of important issues and trends around himor her and most importantly, question the socio-economic arrangements in a manner that canlead to change and development. In fact, a successful "Digital Bangladesh" would need amore literate population. A mass computer-literacy programme or even a government-sponsored computer course, offered perhaps as an incentive for every student who completeshis or her secondary-school education, would benefit everyone. If there is will - backed byinvestment - there is a way. 3. Creation of Knowledge: A nation can develop in two ways – either it learns to use existing resources better, or itdiscovers new resources. Both activities involve creation of knowledge. This makes itimportant to consider all activities that lead to the creation of knowledge directly or help in protecting the knowledge that is created. To realize the aspirations of the 2021 vision, thecountry must be able to produce its own engineers, scientists and technological know-how. 4. ...Satisfaction is important because it provides marketers and business owners with a metric that they can use too mange and improve their businesses. 8. How has the rise of the World Wide Web changed business practices? What are the benefits and drawbacks for business? For consumers? Business practices have changed drastically over the years with the development of the World Wide Web. The web has become the "must have" tool of most industries and homes. This tool offers an easier, more accessible and cost effective way to connect with others in many ways and for many reasons in a very short period of time. The web is working its way into becoming an absolute necessity to be able to function throughout society in every home school and or business. Life as we knew it has been completely altered due to the introduction of this resource. Most businesses have found it more cost effective and time effective to advertise through the web. It is much quicker and cheaper to pay for an advertising spot on several websites than it is to send out millions of mailers to homes across the country and abroad. It is also quicker and cost effective to have a central place for consumers to be able to order products, make payments and take care of business all from the privacy of their own home or work place. Advantages are: Many people that want your products Many buy on a regular basis which is good for cash flow. It can be very rewarding if you have a large market......

I would like to discuss about health traditions; health maintenance, health protection and health restoration among with three different culture; Philippine, Hispanic and Japanese. Health Maintenance Health maintenance deals with what different cultures do in their everyday lives that help prevent illness. In Philippine, people goes to grocery in daily base to buy the fresh meat, fish vegetable and fruit for the day and they don’t freeze or avoid using artificial flavor and MSG (Mary Smith, personal communication, April 30, 2014). In Japan where the author grew up till 18 year old, high school graduation, Japanese believe that what they consume, affect their health condition. Japanese eat fresh fish called “sashimi” as well as fresh fish with rice “sushi” which they are not greasy and high protein nutrition. ...with, problems at home, handling abuse and preventing teenager pregnancy and contacting HIV, STD or AIDS. With this program students were selected from high schools all across the island and taken on a weekend trip to a resort where they learnt all these direct facts, strategies and effective coping skills. It was definitely a fulfilling experience for me as I was able to be a voice for the weak and provide guidance to someone that may have been in despair and hopeless. The Together We Can program worked very closely with AIDS and HIV positive individuals so as to use their voices to reach out to others in the society cautioning them to protect them and know their status. During this time I became very close with one of the AIDS patient, the day I first met him is a memory that is held dear to my heart his frail body sitting in a wheelchair looking out as the waves splashed against the shore awaiting the other members to arrive for our monthly social gathering. Although so frail, he possessed a smile that was so pure and bright that of a jovial child and he spoke so meekly even through his perilous times. A perfect example that even through suffering one can be content. There were many functions I attended but this one was most memorable, we took inspiring photographs to place on fliers to be distributed around the high school and that he made the announcement that the doctor told him he doesn’t have much longer to live. This was my first inspiration that being part of the......

...Andrade Mr. Jones p.2 November 23, 2013 Pro Prayer In School Over the years, many Americans have discussed the issue about prayer in school. It has been heavily debated since the 1960s, when the Supreme Court decided that prayer in school was unconstitutional and was removed from all public schools. Many people believe that the elimination of prayer in school is beneficial to the students. They say that because religion is private and schools are public it is better that the two should not mix. “To introduce religion in our public schools, builds walls between children who may not have been aware of religious differences before.” (state/church) This, however, its contradicted by many factors that have been seen over the years. Prayers have the power of creating a spiritual atmosphere that helps students drive into values such as humility and discipline. Which is why many people believe that prayers should be allowed in school to develop the maturity of the students. “Banning prayers in school could mean depriving the school children of their freedom of religion.” (prons and cons of prayer in school) According to the First Amendment of the Constitution, all American people have freedom of Andrade 2 religion, press, and expression. Therefore, every children who attends school should have the right to pray at school. Those who are in favor of prayers in school, believe that prayer is an essential part of the school routine. For them, it seems quite irreligious......

...Page 1, Today world, many people would agree that higher education is worth the price, in our society today, students are expected to follow the path of day care, grade school, middle school, high school and hopefully college. Higher education has always been the gateway of accessing higher salary occupation. But the question I have always asked is that does the cost of higher education worth the price? College education is becoming more expensive than ever. Today, it takes 40 percent of their paycheck to go to college.  This is an indication that college education cost is on the increase. My uncle Salman was student five year ago, he still paying student loans accrued during his first attempt at completing an undergraduate degree that was defaulted due to the inability to repay the debt. Many college students would feel that college is a waste of money because they do not learn what they want to. Instead they have to take classes that have close to nothing to do with their major but are only taking these classes in Page 2 Order to fulfill a general educational requirement. Higher education could raise the student’s chance of economic success in the future. Some of student should not able to go through college, because they paying for money for college. ...On one hot late-summer day when I was in high school, my parents came back from a shopping trip with a surprise present for me: the legendary board game, Diplomacy. At first I scoffed at such an old-fashioned game. Who would want to waste glorious sunny days moving armies around a map of pre-World War I Europe, pretending to be Bismarck or Disraeli? But after playing the game once, I became absolutely riveted by the nuances of statecraft, and soon began losing sleep as I tried to craft clever diplomatic gambits, hatch devious schemes, and better understand the game's ever-changing dynamics. As my friends and I spent the second half of the summer absorbed by the game, my parents grinned knowingly. How could I resist being fascinated with Diplomacy, they asked me, when I incessantly read about international affairs, and liked nothing more than debating politics over dinner? How could I resist being fascinated, when I had spent most of my summers in Greece (and, much more briefly, France and England), witnessing first-hand the ways in which countries differ socially, culturally, and politically? Though my passion for foreign policy and international affairs undoubtedly dates back to high school, I never had the chance to fully develop this interest before college. Once I arrived at Harvard, however, I discovered that I could learn about international relations through both my academics and my extracurricular activities. Academically, I decided to concentrate in Government, and,...

...transfer requirements may not necessarily apply to another public or private university. Additionally, some private universities require entry-level courses to be taken in their college; these universities do not accept transfer units of English, math or science, regardless if these courses' equivalent were already taken. Students looking to apply to multiple private universities must contact each one to make arrangements on a case-by-case basis; some have more flexible requirements than others. Disadvantage: Cost • Private universities are generally more expensive than public, sometimes significantly so. According to CampusGrotto, the average tuition among many private colleges was $40,000 per year as of 2007. However, some private schools are making efforts toward providing more financial aid to prospective college students. Smaller private universities in particular are typically looking to create inclusive student bodies by helping students from diverse backgrounds gain admission. Additionally, private universities are usually more flexible with payment plans; parents and students can work with financial aid advisors to work on loan consolidation and long-term payment schedules.
