Abstract

Ron Engineering case is one of the cases where state government and private companies defend their interests in the court. What can lead to changing of ruling and overall law perception. Because of the tender’s mistake, Ron Engineering & Construction Ltd. decided to withdraw from the bidding process and return the deposit that was required during the tendering process from all bidders. It has released chain of issues regarding law that has affected the way rulings are stated now. A call for tenders was stated and required $150,000 deposit which would be acquired by the contract owner if tender quit the tendering. Ron Engineering has realized that they have done a significant mistake during their bid price calculation. The total mistake was evaluated in about of 750,058 dollars and made the company to be the on of the smallest bidders. When employee realized the mistake and Ron Engineering tried to quit tendering without be penalized, the request was denied. Government decided to keep the deposit and sign the contract with other tenderer. Corporation tried to return their deposit and that leaded to three courts processes, that were about to shape the tendering ruling in Canada.

...The Ron Clark Story is a movie based on a true story of a man named Ron Clark who moves to the inner city of New York City in order to help students in need. Ron Clark wishes to help educate and give the love of learning to his students. Initially, the students do not care for Mr. Clark, and even go as far as to drive him away from helping them. ...2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM Ron Bent, the plant manager, is ultimately responsible for solving the problem of declining employee motivation at Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant. Over the past two years, productivity, employee morale, quality of work, and sales have all declined. These are the results of the larger issues of employee motivation and communication within an organization. Things like productivity, quality of work, and sales are relatively short-term problems. Up until two years ago, they had been at exceptional levels ever since the implementation of an employee incentive program known as the Scanlon Plan in 1999. The plan was extremely effective in turning around the productivity and attitudes of many employees, as is evident by the employee feedback that management received. The case study presented by Beer and Collins offers workers’ praise for the new program such as, “I’m getting rewarded for thinking, not just for performing the same tasks every day”(Lutz, p.5) and, “People see themselves as a more cooperative workforce— Engstrom is now a better place to work than it was before we brought in Scanlon”(Andrews, p.5). ...Born on the 4th of July In recent years the Wounded Warrior Project has brought to the forefront of American society the issue of paralyzed and spinal injuries in military veterans. There are currently over 100,000 veterans with these types of catastrophic injuries in America. Ron Kovic was a Marine Corp Sergeant who served two tours in the Vietnam War to return home paralyzed. His memoirs chronicle his experience both overseas and back home and show his transformation from a “Yankee Doodle Dandy” to a major antiwar activist. The Vietnam War substantially changed the culture of America. The 1950’s post World War II culture as described by Kovic was very stereotypically “Leave it to Beaver” he had a two parent home, mom stayed home dad worked. They were a good Catholic family and Ron just wanted to do well in baseball and make his parents proud. Ron grew up in a very patriotic environment. His childhood memories include fireworks on his birthday, playing war games with his friends, watching War movies starring John Wayne and Audie Murphy and feeling pride reciting the pledge of allegiance (Kovic 83).
