People rely on computers each and every day. They play an important role in our day to day life. There are a lot of people that contributed with the developments of computers. One of them is Steve Jobs. He created a company called Apple. He was also known as inventor and innovator. Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco. He was put up for adoption and adopted by Paul Jobs and Clara Jobs. At early age, his parents noticed the he has an exceptional brain. He went to Monta Loma Elementary School. The school officials noticed that he had exceptional test scores and recommended to skip to grades. His parents refused to let him skip two grade levels but agreed to skip one. When he reached high school he was introduced to another whiz kid named Steve Wosnak. They both played a big role in each other’s life. Jobs attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon but later dropped out. He took a few courses here and there, such as calligraphy. He started a job in Atari but later traveled in India in the early 70’s and six months later came back in United States. He acquired a strong belief in Zen Buddhism. Sander (2012) wrote, stated that “Steve Jobs was a follower of Zen, and Zen is all about attaining enlightenment, and feeling whole, through the wisdom of experience. Respect is also gained through the wisdom of experience, and Steve Jobs deployed the political capital of respect to its fullest extent.”
By the mid 70’s Jobs and Wosnak decided to create their own company. They would need $1,000 to create their first proto type. So they sold some of their stuff to acquire the money. They both decided to call it Apple and would change it later if they found another name, but apparently they did not. Paul Terrel from Homebrew started his own company called Byte shop. Ordered 50 set for $500 each. He left Apple and created a company called NEXT in 1985.…...

...English 134 24 January 2012 The Man Behind the Camo, by Kelly McBride, is a profile that focuses on the author’s younger brother, Scott, and his experiences with the concept of manhood. McBride goes about this by describing past events like childhood traditions and activities that she shared with Scott, and then providing her own commentary and thoughts on the matter. McBride’s detailed recounting of her personal experiences helps make this piece a well-written profile because it effectively gives the reader insight into Scott’s childhood as well as their relationship as brother and sister. This firsthand source (memories written onto paper) helps the reader to feel as if they were really there, and makes them more aware of what the actual events were like and how they helped McBride come to the conclusions that she did about Scott and masculinity. The author uses both quotes and detailed imagery to portray her brother in this profile, a combination that both appeals to the senses and works very well to describe events. McBride uses quotes to emphasize or confirm the memory that she is currently describing, which helps to lend the reader a hand and give them a real example of the subject while helping to align the author’s train of thought and the story. For example, when McBride is recalling Scott’s first venture into manhood in the form of football she quotes him saying “’All of my friends were doing it that year. Football is just kind of the ‘guy’ thing to......

Personality Profile

...CSU Word count: 638 In an effort to better understand myself and why I make some of the choices in my life, I have taken two personality profile questionnaires online; the first was one recommended by my professor, called Keirsey Character Sorter, the second was of choosing and that led me to Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test. After careful dissection of the results I found that even though some of the findings were similar, the two tests painted different pictures of my personality. I will contrast and attempt to compare both examinations, showing why I believe the Keiser test is a more accurate description of my personality and character. I took both tests within one day of each other, to avoid an influence from one test on the other. After completion of the Keirsey test, I found the results to be surprisingly accurate, especially its description of the way my type makes decisions and view important choices. As for the Jung Typology test, I found it to be only accurate in generalities; the same way a daily horoscope found in the back of a newspaper would be. Both tests consisted of more than 60 questions with only two possible answers, all of which I answered with an open mind and honesty. The Keirsey test described my personality as a Rational Inventor or (ENTP), in it I found deep connection with its key characteristics, specially the first paragraph where it describes how this type of personality “is always trying to build a better mouse trap”(Keirsey, n.d., para1)....

Profile of a Person

...The purpose of introducing Major Project B: Profile of a Person was to inform my audience about Toby Bush and the 20 years he spent in the United States Air Force. My main focus was to get a good understanding of his thoughts and feelings so that I could have that same effect of my audience when they read it. Considering the phases I went through, they all gave me an opportunity to go deeper into my main point. When planning and preparing to start my interview I had a goal that was to ask all the right questions without offending or asking for too much. I first made a list of questions based on what I wanted to know and what I felt was important for my audience to know. The interview went well and I was very observant so that I could give my profile a setting. Later, I did background research on the bases Toby traveled to and also the events happening at the time. This helped me better include my thoughts and if asked any questions, I have information to share. Proposing a draft and then receiving and giving feedback was most important and helpful to me because I’m very concerned when it comes to doing things the right way and also getting a passing grade. I also enjoy the constructive criticism and I’m always open for improvement. While developing this project I would say it took a lot of thinking. I say this because I had to basically speak for others, considering all types of things. Above all I spoke for Toby. I also spoke for the customers by describing the great......

School Profile

...School Profile EDA 575 Grand Canyon University January 15, 2014 Vision Statement Desertaire Elementary School is located in El Paso, Texas in the Ysleta Independent School District. Desertaire Elementary shares the same vision statement as the district. Students recite the vision statement every morning during morning announcements. All students who enroll in our schools will graduate from high school fluent in two or more languages, prepared and inspired to continue their education in a four-year college, university, or institution of higher education so that they become successful citizens in their community. The majority of this vision statement is true; the only part I do not think is factual is that students who graduate from our school are fluent in two or more languages. There are bilingual and monolingual classes at Desertaire Elementary, but students in bilingual classes are exited in 5th grade. Those are the students that are fluent in two or more languages. Community and School Demographics The student population for Ysleta Independent School District as a whole is 167,620. Desertaire Elementary has a student population of 927 students. The majority of students at Desertaire Elementary are Hispanic/latino. There is a high amount of military families that move in and out of the area as well. Some of the programs offered to the community at Desertaire Elementary are Active Parent Volunteer Program (50 members), CATCH (Family Fun Fitness Fridays) Family......

Community Profile

...WK 2: Community Profile In a community there lives a diverse group of people. These people are what make a community a home or a neighborhood. This neighborhood needs to be respected and protected in order for people to thrive and carry-on with their everyday lives. My community is made up families raising their children and just going with everyday life. We take pride in living for our children. Sports and education is big in the community, during school and during the summer months as well. When the adults are not working they take their leisure time going to basketball games on Friday nights during the fall or baseball games during the summer. Also during the summer months my community has a farmers market. The farmers market supports local farmers and also brings other small businesses out. The farmers market always brings out the community and brings people together. It is also a great way to contribute to small businesses and give back. Some other wonderful, fun things we have during the summer months that brings the community together are car shows, a day in the park and the jubilee. A reason we can have these things is because of the workforce in the community. The workforce ranges from industry to clerical to fast food to medical. We are very diverse in what needs to be done. The community used to be mostly industrial but a lot of factories were shutdown due to the economy. The community still has a couple of bigger industrial factories that are in production but...

...The personality profile that our team chose is Work Personality Profile. In this paper we will describe how the Work Personality Profile works. We will also explain why this profile was chosen for reorganization. Our team also will analyze how the profile will be administered to help in the reorganization. Finally we will explain the common decision-making models and described which one the we used to decide on the personality profile. Personality Profile The Work Personality Profile (WPP) according to Bolton, Roessler (1986) was developed at Arkansas Research and Training Center in Vocational Rehabilitation, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in the United States (para. 1) to make available a comprehensive observational instrument for assessing critical work role requirements (para. 1). This particular assessment has been repeatedly used on the workforce to originally test employees who possessed a variety of clinical disorders (Occupational Medicine Journal, 2013, p. 361). This type of profile contains about 58 “behavioral oriented items related to work attitudes, habits, and behaviors” (Bolton, Roessler, 1986, para. 3). It uses a four point scale to determine strength, employment asset, adequate performance, and performance inconsistency, which could lead to problems down the line according to Bolton, Roesler (1986). This 58 item profile forms 11(11) “rationally derived scales (Tyerman, & Young, 2000, p. 15): • Acceptance of the work role • Ability to profit......

These changes are due to, the growing challenges of regulatory burdens, to reduce company costs, and increase in patient care or clients. Today, most businesses use information technology solutions that include programs such as, computerized order entry for physicians, electronic claims processing, and electronic medical records. The need for this new technology in the human service sector is tremendous. In order to be successful, all human service providers are subject to a regulatory framework, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) which was signed on 21st of August, 1996 by the U.S President Bill Clinton. In very basic terms, HIPAA has two primary components to which hospitals, health plans, and healthcare.
