One Night in the Call Center

...that makes me uncomfortable. I don’t like the idea of sharp beaks rearing my muscles, cracking my bones and ripping me to shreds. Plus, my body will be smelling like hell. I’d rather be burnt in a dignified manner and go up in that one last ultimate puff of smoke.’ ‘Can you guys stop this nonsense? At least be silent,’ Esha said and folded her arms. Vroom smiled at her. Then he turned to me. “I don’t thinking Esha will smell too much. Her Calvin Klein perfume will keep her carcass fresh for days.’ #1 I was splashing my hands in the water pointlessly in the sea. I can’t even swim in a pond, let alone in the Indian Ocean. I was in the water while my boss Bakshi was in a boat next to me. He was pushing my head down in the water. I saw Priyanka drifting away in a lifeboat. I screamed even as Bakshi used both his hands to keep my head submerged. Salt water filled my mouth and nostrils as I heard loud beeps at a distance. My nightmare ended as my cell phone alarm rang hard in my left ear and I woke up to its Last Christmas ring tone. The ring tone was a gift from Shefali, my new semi-girlfriend. I squinted through a half-shut eye and lifted on the screen. ‘Damn,’ I said and jumped out of bed. I would have loved to analyze my dream and its significance in my insignificant life, but I had to get dressed for work. ‘Man, the Qualis will be here in twenty minutes,’ I thought, digging matter out of my eye. I was still tired, but scared to sleep more because I was getting late.......

Ipad's Security Breach

...like Gawker Media to be socially responsible. IPAD’S SECURITY BREACH Personally, Gawker Media did what any other company would have done. Gawker made a business decision to report the security breach before Apple and /or AT&T. According to Priyanka (2010), even though one would speculate that Gawker media was merely trying to attract attention for profit purposes, this is not ethical (p.5). The media is here for that sole purpose of information dissemination especially if the case is essential to the public. If the Gawker media did not expose it, Apple and AT&T might have concealed the incident to save their reputation. Possibly it is good that the media has revealed the situation so that Apple and AT&T and other techno giants would try their best to make all of their products and systems well secured. It has become a wakeup call on the part of the entire corporation’s involved in the telecommunication. In part Gawker clarified the company believes it is not a suspect in any way in the ongoing probe launched by the FBI, to look into the matter. According to Priyanka (2010) on Thursday the FBI officially launched a probe after Gawker exposed the security glitch in AT&T network and the carrier accepted it (Priyanka, 2010). Based on the incident, determine what factors CEO’s should consider when responding to a security breach. As CEO the first step would be to have an e-mail sent to all iPad users, not only those whose name had been confirmed to all......

Design : Taguchi Software : Minitab17 Introduction Design of experiments (DOE) is a method of finding the important and less important factors involved in an experiment through a number of steps such as information gathering and mathematical calculations either manually or using a software. It is considered as one of the accurate techniques and widely used in various fields such as engineering, healthcare, education, etc. It is also known for its quality improvement, efficiency, cost and effectiveness. Catapult experiment is generally used to demonstrate DOE as it has the simplest setup and meets the requirements for this method. Taguchi Design 1. Define the process objective i.e. whether we need the output to be maximum or nominal or smaller. In this experiment, it is given as nominal the best. 2. Determine the factors which affect the outcome and number of levels the factors can vary for performing the experiment. Here, the factors are Start angle, Stop position, Cup Position and Peg position and has three levels each. 3. Select the suitable orthogonal array based on number of factors and levels,......

Ecommerce and Mcommerce

...economic activity that is conducted via electronic medium. M-commerce is a subset of E-commerce. Consumers can choose different devices to shop online. The devices are personal computers, laptops, mobile phones, tablets etc. There is a huge increase in number of mobile phones in India and this is expected to be leveraged by the E-commerce industry. There are more than 286 million debit cards in India and additional security (via security codes) enhances the scope of Ecommerce (Deshmukh, Sujata, & Deshmukh, Prashant, & Thampi, G. T 2013). Initial consumers prefer to shop those goods which don’t have touch and feel factor, but this trend is gradually changing. Customer satisfaction depends on information quality and service quality (Joshi, Priyanka 2015). There are some challenges in m-commerce. Small screens and sparse internet connectivity are some of them .One set of researcher looks at how M Commerce should be adopted. There are articles like "Effective optimization of Web Sites for Mobile access" which talks about technical problems that occurred while introducing E Commerce website over mobile phone screen. (Marci Troutman, Steve Timpson, 2008). Further researchers talked about who are the first adopters of E Commerce mobile applications and their patterns. When M Commerce was introduced the initial users were mostly web users. (Liren Einav, Igor Popov and Neel Sundaresan 2012). E-commerce consumer behaviour has been studied in the past. Regression analysis......

Product Placement in Films

...film Taal that people started becoming aware of the practice of product placement (as shown in pic#5). The marketing group of Coca-Cola declared to have paid Rs. 2,00,000 to close the deal. Like Hollywood, Bollywood film makers have also been exploring different types of product placement. The 2002 film Road, shot mostly on roads with the lead characters driving the 24 cars, featured Tata Motors’ Safari 4-wheel SUV. For this placement, Tata Motors paid about Rs.1,25,00,000. In fact, recent films such as Fashion (2008) and Dostana (2008) included several brands that were integral to the movies’ themes. Fashion featured products such as Sunshine and Kimaya, which was endorsed by the protagonist Priyanka Chopra who acts as a model. Also the storyline of Dostana included Priyanka Chopra again, as one of the main characters working for the magazine Verve. Hermes bag was seen in the bollywood movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (as shown in pic#6). The bag was portrayed as a movie character called ‘Bagwati’, whom the actor addressed as a lady and handled very gently. The character became so famous that facebook pages were created based just on the character Bagwati. 5 6 7 4 But one of the major trendsetters was promotion of Aviator sunglasses by Salmaan Khan in the movie Dabangg, after which most of the people actually started using the same kind of shades.
