1. Introduction
Personal development skill plays a significant role in individual’s life. Especially in current society, when studying and working environment become more competitive and tense. Additionally, employees in many big companies now have more power to contribute their ideas for decision making process (Charan, 1999). Therefore, it is very necessary for me to constantly develop my personal skills. As a student, there are many ways for me to enhance these skills such as: classrooms, clubs, student professional organizations, athletic teams, residence halls, the Clarion community, my home community, internship programs, summer jobs… (Humpfreys, 2004).
However, just focusing on developing personal skills is not enough. Assessing and reviewing the development of each skill are also significant. In other words, I should have my own personal development plan which will help me to control my progress. The plan will help me review which achievement I have gained, as well as support me to set further goals for making continuous improvement in each skill area.
In this paper, my personal development skill plan will be demonstrated. First, I will review own personal skills and knowledge I have as well as my attitude to my work and my study. Meanwhile, personal learning style as well as team my ability to work in group will also identified. The last part will be my detail personal action plan and methods I will use to…...

Furthermore when the time came for me to choose a career path in my University life I opted for business management because even though it’s very competitive I find it interesting because steadily updating myself about the current world markets and trends. This wonderful career in business can only be achievable......

...Professional Development Plan Veronica Avery Walden University Professional Development Plan (PDP) Personal Introduction and Professional Goals Raised up in a family with thinker, philosopher, and civil rights activist. My mother and uncle inspired me to attend college. They taught me that getting an education was an honor and a freedom especially, a college education. My uncle and mother would tell us the story when they grow up and how the darker people was not given the opportunity to get a college education, and the light color people were usually in the house, and these people were known to have the opportunity to go to college, and that her father was among the people who could to go to college. So they knew the values of acquiring a college education. My uncle taught me that education was the best way to achieve knowledge and wealth. It took time to understand what he tried to instill in me. It was not until I attend Detroit Instituted of Technology that I realized the value and the important of having a college education, and the impact in a class-room learning environment had on a new thinker like me. Thank to my mother and uncle who instill in me love for the pursuit of excellence in academics, particularly science. Her constant support and guidance was an instrumental to the successful pursuit of my benefit. With science as my preferred area in college- biology was one of my favorite subjects. ...Personal Strategic Plan There is a lot about the self that one does not know. Better understanding yourself will enable you to become more productive and successful in achieving your desired goals. For me I have come to learn that there is an untapped potential. A person can achieve more than they think. I am very much like a brand, but as one I have to be able to tell myself what it is that makes me different. I should be able to tell whether it is things like delivering work on time, anticipating and solving crisis and so on. Distinguishing those qualities and characteristics that make me different from my competition or colleagues is crucial. Even they should be able to tell me what sets me apart. The only way to discover my strength is through feedback analysis. Whenever I make a key decision, or take any action, I will write down what I expect will happen. Nine or 12 months later, I will compare the actual results with my expectations. First I will concentrate on my strengths, then work on improving them, and finally discover where my intellectual arrogance is causing disabling ignorance; that will allow me to overcome it. Just like a brand does, each person achieves the best results by working in ways in which they best perform. If I set up a comparison between brand Y and brand X, I will notice that the standard model that brand X uses involves feature benefits whereby every feature they offer in their product or service yields an identifiable and distinguishable......

...joining the Navy, it has been hard for me to accept anything I do to be below standard. I need to create and implement a plan to improve my ability to study effectively. I plan to make a time table so I can visually map out and organize where my time is spent. I have yet to find an adequate place where I can study the way I would like to. Living on base, the places to study are very limited and to find a place with little to no distractions can be extremely difficult. I will have to create an area in my room. When its time for me to study I will unplug all my electronics and place the cords in my closet to eliminate distractions around me. It will take a lot of self-control to not just plug them back in. As far as my reading habits go, there is little that needs to be done. My comprehension level is pretty good but I mostly have trouble with the retention of important information. I plan to start reading the material four to five times a night. I will read one chapter then go back and read it again and again until I feel confident that I know and understand the information. I struggle with distractions that constantly surround me. Whether it be my television, my music or even the jets flying right over the barracks. There is nothing I can do about the jets but I have already mentioned my plan for the electronics. I will need a lot of self discipline to accomplish my plan but my level of motivation and dedication to succeed will ultimately drive me to follow through....

...Personal Plan and Presentation Rafael Pereira Gen 195 February 27, 2014 Robert Germann Personal Plan and Presentation My dream job would be one of the following, either work at Google, Apple or Microsoft (in the exact order of my personal interest in them) or open my own software development firm, which would be awesome. In order to achieve any of these goals, I have to start by getting a university education that will serve as the foundation of these personal and professional goals that I have set for myself. But my personal goals do not end there. I have started to take the initial steps into creating a better studying environment where I will be free of distractions and ergonomically correct to avoid injuries and musculoskeletal disorders which are common in computer users like students and people in my field of study and career path, software engineers. I have purchased an extremely comfortable chair rated for use in a range of five to eight hours consecutively, which allows me to be pain free in my lower back area and take less breaks from studying because of the pain and now my breaks are more enjoyable. Time management has been a problem since childhood. I am a huge procrastinator. I find any excuse to leave assigned tasks for the last minute. Sometime I even analyze it as that I need the pressure to function better, but I know that it is just a rationalization to not see the truth, that I lack academic discipline. I have come up with a solution. I......

...been substandard.. In order to rectify and improve on my overall study habits I will have to create and adhere to a plan of action. In this plan I will create a calendar to organize my time, and my efforts to all of my college studies. I have found that going to my room with my door closed will help to optimize my study habits. My room is a quiet place with very little distractions, so by going to my room I can focus on studying for homework assignments and tests. There is very little I need to do for my reading habits. My comprehension level is very good, but the one thing I can do to help with my comprehension is to read the material two or three separate times. I will read a chapter of one of my books one night, then go over it again a few ours later. By the end of the week, I will have read all the material given to me. I will then go back and read it all over again the night before class. As this can be time consuming, it does not always work for me. I am on a very strict schedule, so I will do what I can to take the material wherever I go. By reading all of the material the night before class I can wake up with everything fresh in my mind. To eliminate all distractions I will go to my room. The T.V. will remain off and there will be no music. I will let my son and my fiancée know what I am doing so he can keep the volume of the living room T.V. down. As this plan is new, it is still unknown how well it will work. But with motivation and dedication I know that I can......

...Introduction Personal Goals Playing to Your Strengths Building on My Competencies Conclusion School is a tool that allows you to be in control of your success or failure. You must match your pursuit of your degree based upon your strengths and not allow your weakness to hold you back. With goals, interest, and competencies guiding us into career development, I had to ask the hard question, “am I qualified to own a business after getting my Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting?” In the pursuit of our dreams, we have to remember to keep our integrity intact as the college environment will present many opportunities that will force us to choose. Make sure to use every resource and opportunity available. Allow mentoring by instructors, classmates, academic advisors, and people in your field of study that can help guide you to your goal. I had to make the correct decision for me because I was in control of success or failure. Being married with a stepson and working fulltime meant that the traditional college road was not the one for me. The University of Phoenix was the perfect choice for me in pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Accounting. It would allow me to continue to work and get a degree in an online setting. I knew that there were not many opportunities in my area for a career in a large corporation. And while I could work at a local firm, my plan was to own an Accounting firm. A gigantic step I was undertaking but had believed that I could do it. It was......

...Personal Development Plan By Nidhi Shukla | Carlow University EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Combining business school education, professional/personal development training, and self-education along with life experiences has directed me toward beginning a career as a business analyst and later on being an entrepreneur. I have been taking classes and exploring various business opportunities as well. I am an MBA student at Carlow University. I have masters in Physics and English from India and during the course of my graduation, and have also studied various art mediums to explore creative talents. I have decided to combine those strengths and interests into my career path. Now that graduation is closer it is time to formulate and begin executing a plan for the next 5 to 10 years of my life. INTRODUCTION During my education and my career as a high school teacher, I have learnt that leadership is a critical management skill and an ability to motivate a group of people toward a common goal. These items help to develop a person’s skills as a leader. Personal Development Planning is useful in this regard as it is a structured and supported process undertaken by an individual to reflect upon their own learning, performance and/or achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development. The benefits of PDP are numerous. PDP processes are designed to improve the capacity of individuals to understand what and how they are learning, and to review, plan and take......

Personal Plan to Succeed

...Personal Plan to Succeed I had many personal and professional plans to succeed years ago when I got married at the age of twenty, and after my daughter was born. I say “I had” because I believe I have succeeded. “Setting and working toward goals, managing time effectively and dealing with the stresses that often arise through the journey are three aspects of self-management,” (Carter, Bishop, Kravits, 2007) and aspects that take me through life. I said I was going to become a nurse, and I did. I said I was going to open my own business, and I did. I believe success is when you have accomplished a certain goal that you have put your mind to. I believe in that “the knowledge and accomplishment you have built will give you more power to handle the ups and downs of life and to continue on toward your future.”(Carter, Bishop, Kravits, 2007) I believe there are personal and professional goals I have to accomplish. Personal goals and professional goals I have include: finishing my Master’s degree, seeing my daughter finishing her career, and growing in my business. I believe that I am not done expanding my knowledge. Like someone once said, “Being a motivated lifelong learner will allow you to ride the waves of change, remaining able to manage and achieve your evolving career and personal goals.”(Carter, Bishop, Kravits, 2007). Some of the reasons I want to pursue my graduate studies are: I enjoy going to school and learning new things, and that I feel that my career......
