There are 4 basic patterns in leadership that when analyzed; can outline the type of climate within any given organization. The climate within the organization can be exploitive, impoverished, supportive, or enlightened. According to Manning & Curtis (2009), “Although members may have considerable influence, organizational climate is determined primarily by leaders”, (Manning & Curtis, p.82). So, based on this week’s questioner; the most recent organization that I was part of “North Chicago Naval hospital”; falls under the supportive organizational climate, simply due to the fact that it placed a great wealth of interest in the professional growth of its members and confidence on members to get the job done with minimal discrepancies.
Supervisors from various clinics within the hospital were part of a team that conducted weekly training sessions that enabled co-workers to become well rounded with the medical various fields so that when it came to advancement exams; they would be better prepared. It positively impacted much more than just our potential for professional growth; it also enabled for members from different clinics to be able to help each other when needed, ensuring that the hospital would have a sustained level of manning throughout our clinics. By being properly trained constantly; our leaders were able to have more and more confidence on us, which removed most of the micromanaging within our respective work centers. Also, having an open door policy to voice our concerns helped establish the sense of support from our staff and the organization as a whole.
Although the supportive organization climate worked just fine; there are 5 steps that its leaders and the organization as a whole can follow in order to achieve a higher level climate such as an enlightened organizational climate, where more power is given to qualified members in order to best…...

...Organizational Culture and Climate Organizational culture characterizes a work environment. It comprises all of the life experiences each employee brings to the milieu. Culture is made up of the values, beliefs, attitudes, assumptions and behaviors shared by a group of people. The organizational climate is the way we fell about where we work. Climate can be seen as that which quantifies the culture; it is the collective perceptions about the organization. (Huber, 2010). I currently work in the endoscopy suite of a 222 bed, suburban community, private non-profit hospital. Our unit is small and includes six nurses, two of whom are full time employees; four of us are part-time. We have a full nursing assistant who also serves as our transporter. One of the full-time nurses is our unit manager with the dual role of staff nurse. My nurse manager identified the environment as collaborative in which teamwork is always encouraged, however, recognizes that unity is not always perceived. Generally the environment is positive but we often feel overlooked by the larger organization. I was able to interview all of my coworkers using the Frosythe tool. Some of my findings were as I suspected, and I became enlightened by some new information. Climate

...Climate Scare Is all the hype about man made climate change going to destroy the human race. In The 11th Hour by Leonardo DiCaprio, we hear and see the perceived effects man-made climate change is having on our planet. Flooding, hurricanes, and drought, all caused by man’s use of fossil fuels, our only chance of survival, eliminate our use of fossil fuels. Bill McKibben agrees with this theory, in “350 Science” he informs us the current level of carbon dioxide (CO2), 392 parts per million, is much too high. His suggestion is that carbon sequestering is necessary to prevent our destruction. Patrick Moore reiterates this theory in “An Inconvenient Fact”. He contradicts DiCaprio’s belief of curtailing forestry and encourages improved forestry as a tool for carbon sequestering. While The 11th Hour suggests hurricanes, and flooding are caused by man, Scott Mandia tells us differently in “The Little Ice Age in Europe”. In it he describes conditions in Europe during ice age periods that mirror the conditions DiCaprio and others predict in The 11th Hour. We know that the CO2 levels are rising, but the dooms day predictions are false and misleading. All of their predictions have happened in recorded history, during times of colder temperatures and lower CO2 levels. There are some that believe that there is a terrific amount of warming happening in the entire global climate. The data were collected from 146 academicians by Kocaeli University Organizational Climate Questionnaire (KUOCQ) measuring five factors- “rules and discipline”, “democracy”, “social and cultural factors”, “organizational image” and “organizational goals”. Reliability coefficient of questionnaire was " = .97. The findings showed that there was a significant difference in five dimensions between academicians who were in the post of management and those who were not: managers scored more than the rest. Moreover, the findings showed that “gender” and “academic title” were not important in the perception of organizational climate.
