Potential * The potential for hosting a red carpet theme party is to make guests who are arriving at the party feel like VIPs. Laying out a red carpet purchased or rented from a party supply store, or a red carpet made from red fabric at the foot of the entryway along with velvet rope rails is a great way to show guests just how special you feel they are. Some people view red carpets to be only for celebrities or world-renowned dignitaries; so when your guests walk the red carpet to your party, they will expect to receive VIP treatment--all in good fun.

A`Time Frame * The best time for hosting a red carpet theme party is on the day of a special occasion or the date of a scheduled special event, such as an award show (Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, etc.). For a movie premiere, the party entourage could go to the movies to watch the show and then have the party immediately following the show. The same agenda works for a concert or stage show. Make sure to have someone setting up the party during the show or have everything in place before heading off for the show, so that things will be easy to pull together when everyone arrives back at the party. Oftentimes if it is a movie premiere, one could wait until the movie comes out on video until hosting the party. This way everyone cand watch the movie during the party.
Features
* When guests arrive and begin to stroll the red carpet to the entrance, simulate the paparazzi by having a photographer or several photographers shooting flash photos. This is a great way for guests to feel special while creating a memento of the party for a future scrapbook or to share with friends. Inside of the party, be sure to treat guests like royalty by offering gift baskets or swag bags full of goodies, similar to what is given to celebrities at award shows (albeit on a less expensive price scale). ...develop business-orientated solutions for marketing, in particular SAS Marketing Automation (MA) Solution and SAS Industry specific solutions for Telco and Retail banking. He was founder and chairman of Intrinsic, a campaign management vendor acquired by SAS in March 2001. Synopsis The last few years has seen a growth in the use of statistical techniques to monitor the effectiveness of integrated marketing activities. This paper explores one of these techniques, Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) and describes at a high level the key components of an MMM solution. Introduction “I waste half of the money I spend in advertising. I just don't know which half.“ Is a famous quote first attributed to John Wanamaker a US store merchant in 1862. The sad news is that we still hear it all too often today. However the reality is that in today’s modern marketing function there is no excuse for not measuring the effectiveness of all marketing activities. The following paper explores the use of marketing mix modelling (MMM) to manage marketing spend. Marketing Mix The following section provides a brief description of marketing mix. The marketing mix model (also known as the 4 P’s) can be used by marketers as a tool to assist in implementing a marketing strategy. It is important to understand that the marketing mix principles are controllable variables. The marketing mix can be adjusted on a frequent basis to meet the changing needs of the target market and the other dynamics of the marketing......

...Where are we? What the hell is going on? The dust has only just begun to fall, Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling. Spin me round again and rub my eyes. This can't be happening. When busy streets a mess with people would stop to hold their heads heavy. Hide and seek. Trains and sewing machines. All those years they were here first. Oily marks appear on walls Where pleasure moments hung before. The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity of this still life. Hide and seek. Trains and sewing machines. (Oh, you won't catch me around here) Blood and tears, They were here first. Mmm, what you say? Mm, that you only meant well? Well, of course you did. Mmm, what you say? Mm, that it's all for the best? Ah of course it is. Mmm, what you say? Mm, that it's just what we need? And you decided this. Mmm what you say? What did she say? Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth. Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs. Speak no feeling, no I don't believe you. You don't care a bit. You don't care a bit. ...Actions “Just Lather, That’s All” and “The Fifty-First Dragon” 1Actions can often portray a person’s needs, wants, and hopes. 2“Just Lather, That’s All” by Hernando Tellez and “The Fifty-First Dragon” by Christopher Morley are two stories that convey that the two protagonist’s actions display how they feel. 3Both stories prove how their actions reveal what is on their minds, even though their situations are completely divergent. 4Allthough each of these short stories speak about the actions of the protagonists; this paragraph will analyze the difference between the two. 5Each character in both story are given a problem, and they act very differently. 6Gawaine plays a young dragon slayer in “The Fifty-First Dragon”, and from the fact that he can slaughter a living creature in a single, mocking swing of his sword, we can tell that he doesn’t care for the well-being of the dragon, and only focuses on his fame and glory that exceeds from his sinful act. 7In the story “Just Lather, That’s All” the Barber thinks long and hard before deciding whether to, or not to murder the cruel general that sits comfortably in the barber chair, within the barber’s reach. 8Nervousness proves whether the person has the ability to commit a hasty decision, or to back away slowly. 9Gawaine swings his sword and slices through each dragon without any fear at all. 10Gawaine is evidently different than the Barber whose hands evidently tremble from his anxiety. 11Although the Barber would seem......

...Tom Precious May 03--ALBANY -- New York State is losing millions of dollars in tax revenues by roll-your- own cigarette outlets selling loose tobacco at a lower tax rate usually reserved for pipe tobacco, federal officials warned Wednesday. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control said the state lost nearly $17 million in tobacco tax revenue in a 16-month period ending last August. Nationwide, all states were out nearly $400 million and the federal government lost out on nearly $1 billion. The situation has likely only worsened in New York since last summer as more roll-your-own cigarettes are sold in tobacco shops -- which health groups say skirts state law and will raise smoking rates because of the cheaper access to cigarettes. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman recently acted on roll-your-own shops in New York City and the Syracuse area. New York trailed only Florida, California and Texas in lost tobacco tax revenues under a practice in which roll-your-own shops sell pipe tobacco to make cigarettes at a tobacco tax level that is nearly $22 per pound cheaper than loose tobacco. The report's authors said the tax scheme employed by roll-your-own shops "blunts the public health impact excise tax increases would otherwise have on reducing tobacco use through higher prices." The CDC report did not look at tax avoidance issues by smokers turning to cheap, roll-your-own cigarettes compared with taxable, brand-name sales. "Certainly, given New York's high cigarette tax, the......

...Fathers' rights The abortion issue is largely devoted to dealing with the rights of the foetus and the mother. The rights and concerns of the father are rarely discussed. The most common case concerning fathers and abortion is when the father wants the mother to have an abortion and she doesn't. But sometimes the mother wants an abortion and the father wants her to have the baby. Is an abortion ever morally wrong because it transgresses the father's rights? Fathers and the courts * in 2002 a new Chinese law put a man's right to have a child on an equal footing with the right of his wife, and a man has sued his wife for infringing that right by having an abortion * American courts have consistently decided that a woman's right to an abortion can't be vetoed by a husband, partner or ex-boyfriend, and also that a woman doesn't have to notify the father that she intends to have an abortion * In 1987 and 2001 men attempted in the UK courts to prevent their former partners having abortions; they failed Harm to the father Fathers' rights have not been much discussed. However, the philosopher George W. Harris has put forward the idea that there are circumstances under which a woman's decision to have an abortion would be morally wrong because it would do harm to the father. A woman can legally deprive a man of his right to become a parent or force him to become one against his will. Armin A. Brott The argument goes like this: If the father has a morally......

...------------------------------------------------- 1. Identify some of the established recruiting techniques that apparently underlie Trilogy’s unconventional approach to attracting talent. One recruiting technique they rely upon heavily is college recruiting. They want the freshest and least experience employees in the workforce. They then fly their top recruits and their spouses to Austin, to conduct an on-site visit. While the candidates and their spouses are there for 3 days, top management takes them out on the town to do fun things after a day full of interviews. They also scour computer science departments, looking for ambitious overachievers.  2 What particular elements of Trilogy’s culture most likely appeal to the kind of employee’s it seeks? How does it convey those elements to job prospects? Being that they tend to recruit recent college graduates, the average age of their employees are 26. There is no dress code, they can make their own hours, and there’s a well-stocked kitchen. They also have on company sponsored events including retreats in Las Vegas and Hawaii and nights out at a dance club. Aside from discussing these elements during the interview process, while the employees and their spouses are there for the 3 days top management takes them out. They do fun things like laser tag, rollerblading, and mountain biking.  3. Would Trilogy be an appealing employer for you? Why or why not?
