The opinions were collected through structured questionnaire mailed to 60 Bank Managers from Bangalore and Delhi. The study concluded that the Chief Managers were practicing authoritative style of leadership on the ground that power sharing and delegation would impair the environment of trust. Previous research about leadership investigated the leadership styles of Turkisheducational and industrial administrators (Bircan, 1993). A total of 132 public highschool teachers and 100 subordinates who have been working with the sameadministrators for at least one year participated in the study. To determine the leadershipstyles, Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire (LBDQ) was administered toteachers and subordinates. The data obtained from the LBDQ were classified accordingto the mean scores of administrators on initiating structure and considerationdimensions. The possible differences between the initiating structure and considerationdimensions of the LBDQ scores of the educational and industrial administrators werealso investigated by employing separate t-tests to the mean initiating structure andconsideration subscales’ scores of the subjects.
