In other for us to talk about health care in the United States, it is important for to trace the root of health from the Mid-19th century to the present date. The health care system has passed through four significant eras in the history of the country . I am going to break down these various eras for our better understanding. The year 1950 makes the beginning of health care in the united states . This year is so important for us because it’s saw the creation of the first hospitals in the states and its also marks the beginning of formal organization of health care in the country. It moves slowly to 1900 that coincides with the movement of health care in the U.S in to an era of scientific medicine. The world war two and the years following it until 1980 was a period of major social and political development . Here , organizational structures health care gave raise to insurance companies . Leadership, Past Present Future

...Leadership: Past, Present, Future There are three aspects of my life that are very important to me; the people I spend my time with, the books I read and what I spend my time thinking about. I deem these things important because they are where I find most of my inspiration. The concept of leadership is a very broad one, however, there is a subtle, yet very potent driving force, rooted in excellent leadership; that is inspiration. Inspiration propelled our leaders of the past, it is seen today and hopefully it will drive our leaders of tomorrow to greatness. When we think of the stories in history that really mattered, the ones that have stood the test of time, they are stories of great leaders who persevered through times of great turmoil and inspired the people around them to do the same. An excellent example is the case of Dr. Martin Luther King who spear-headed the civil rights movement. Even though the movement eventually claimed his life, his legacy lives on today through those who believe in what he fought for. My favorite author Paulo Coelho once said, “The world only gets better because people risk something to make it better.” When I put on the television, I see religious bombings in Nigeria, flooding in Bangkok, economic turmoil in Europe and it just seems like the world is in total chaos. Sometimes I get despaired because I wonder if anything I do will even make a difference. But then, I remember that what has got me this far in my life is the belief......

My Past, Present Future

...My Past, Present, and Future Hard life does not equal reason for failure, but reason for determination. Even though it may seem with so much bad you are bound to fail, with all of my bad I'm bound to succeed. I have been through a lot in life, just as every single mother but I still have what it takes for my future success. Do you have what it takes for a brighter future? The first reason I believe hard times give you determination, is because I had a hard childhood growing up. Beginning with my father abusing my mother and he was never around, a mother who was struggling to figure out who she was and what she wanted in life, and how to take care of a teenager with so many bad experiences. My father was murdered in front of me and passed in my arms when I was seven years old. My only father figures I had left were my brothers who for their own reasons couldn’t be around much. I turned to alcohol at a young age thinking it would make my life better. I felt as if I was alone. I didn’t know I had people that would be there for me. All I knew was my immediate family and my friends, which were not good influences. My mother had turned to alcohol as well and I was always home alone or with my uncle John. I never wanted to go to school; however, my uncle encouraged me to do so. I continued to attend school and did the best I thought I could. I got into skating thanks to my uncle and that is how I got rid of my stress if I had it. Uncle John always took me and my friends to the......

The Past Is Always Present

...The Past is Always Present One theme constantly confronts the reader of Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, Ohio: The past will constantly impose itself on the present. Many of the grotesques in the novel, such as Wing Biddlebaum, are living in self-imposed isolation because of something tragic that had occurred. In Wing's case the tragic past is raised any time he realizes that his hands are out of control. Two characters whose past play a key role in their unhappy present lives are Wash Williams and Elizabeth Willard. To understand the grotesque nature of their present lives, the reader is exposed to their past experiences. For both Elizabeth Willard and Wash Williams the past has had a powerful effect on their present, and their future seems based on the message they feel compelled to deliver to George Willard. Elizabeth Willard, mother of Winesburg, Ohio's central character George Willard, had watched helplessly as all of her girlhood dreams of adventure and freedom had died away, leaving only her hope and determination that George succeed where she had failed and escape Winesburg. In her youth Elizabeth had been a free spirit dreaming of traveling the world as a stage actress, and in the process gaining a reputation in Winesburg for spending her evenings with the men of the theatrical companies who stayed at her father's hotel. However as time passed, so did the notion of acting and Elizabeth began her search for love and marriage which lead her......

...Running head: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE Past, Present and Future Brandon M. Kilmade PSY 202 Professor Ramsey June 8, 2009 Past, Present and Future Things are finally starting to come together for me in my 35th year in this adventure called life. I have been through ups and some major downs in my lifetime and everything that I have experienced has had a part in why I am the way I am today. Little did I know that my past would have a great effect on my future, as well. I sit here today with a clear image of who I want to be and what it will take to uphold that image. I know where I want to be and how to get there, now I just need to let life take its course and wait. This is a journey of my life past, present and future. Growing up as the youngest child of three was quite an advantage for me. I got to see firsthand what not to do and who not to hang out with. This only helped me to be more aware and to be careful. Universal changes are common to every individual in a species and are linked to specific ages (Boyd & Bee, 2006). I was in class way before I ever stepped foot in a classroom. Life lessons I learned before my life had really begun. I came from a loving but dysfunctional family setting. I cannot really say that I had the best role models to look up to or follow. My parents split up when I was eight years old. My dad was a deadbeat and my Mother had to provide for us on her own. Needless to say her best was not enough and we still needed help......

Minor Parties: Past and Present

...Minor Parties: Past and Present Throughout the history of American politics, there have been countless political parties that have formed, disbanded, and evolved, and nearly all of them have helped shape today’s American political structure in some way. These groups have made significant contributions to American politics and have both directly and indirectly impacted election outcomes. In both the 1912 and the 1968 presidential elections, minor party candidates not only secured a significant amount of support, but influenced drastic change in political views and processes in the United States. In addition to these historical examples, minor parties continue to have a significant role in American politics, and in the 2012 Presidential Election, the Libertarian and Green Parties both nominated candidates that had potential to make a significant impact. Many scholars today believe minor parties only to be “spoilers” in presidential elections; they say that they merely take enough votes away from one candidate to cause the other candidate to win the election (Trautman, 2014). While this does occur, minor parties have a much greater impact on American politics than as merely election spoilers. They often present issues that are important to the American populous that may be overlooked by the large political machines that are the Democratic and Republican parties. After the major parties study these issues, often they consider them in the presentation of their party platform......

Leadership, Past, Present and Future

...Leadership: Past, Present, and Future Mostafa El Abd 20/03/2015 GMBA-EN-BF September 2014 Intake Leadership is significant in both social and organisational functioning. It has a broad meaning and has been defined in many ways over the centuries. Most leadership scholars agree that the term leadership can be described as an influencing procedure and its consequential outcomes which mainly occur between a leader and his or her followers, as well as how this process can be made clear by the leader’s dispositional behaviours and attributes, follower perception, and the framework in which this influencing process or method occurs. The term leadership is often paired with power and management but the definition of leadership should be kept different from both of these terms. Leadership research over the years can be classified into nine major schools starting from the 1900s till 2010s. They are: Trait, Behavioural, Contingency, Contextual, Skeptics, Relational, New leadership, Information-processing and Biological/Evolutionary. 1. Trait School of Leadership: This research started in the 20th century and suggests that specific dispositional attributes differentiate leaders from non-leaders or common people. 2. Behavioural School of Leadership: This school of research began in the 1950s and focused on the behavioural approach towards leadership. Meaning, behaviours that were enacted by the leaders and how they took care of their followers were the focus of this research. 3.......

I went through the General Studies program upon realizing that it would be better for me to rekindle my knowledge on liberal arts and science before pursuing a University of Phoenix program. My Past, Present and Future

...My Past, Present, and Future I never thought I would be 42 years old and writing a paper like this one. I had planned to go to college right after high school, but life does not always happen according to plan. In this paper, I will present a brief description of a few of my life experiences that have helped shape the person I am today and analyze some of these experiences using the adult development theories from this class. I will also look ahead to the goals I want to accomplish in the future. I grew up in a military family. Both my dad and my mother had enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after they graduated from high school, and they met when they were stationed at the same air base. As mom tells it, my dad asked her out on a date several times, but she always refused because she thought he was a little wild. However, Mom was an early-morning person, and Dad was a night owl. One evening, my mother was assigned to work the graveyard shift on a security detail, and she had trouble staying awake. Dad did her a favor by working her shift for her, so she thought she at least owed him one date. The rest, as they say, is history. My earliest childhood memories were of growing up on Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, as the oldest of five children. As the family grew, my mother left the Air Force, but my father continued in military service. My siblings and I are all about two years apart in age, and my childhood was fairly ordinary until I was about ten years old,......

...Past, Present, & Future Paper GEN 480 Celena Hadlock Past, Present, & Future Paper The Past Upon starting my education with the University of Phoenix program I was unemployed and actively seeking re-employment. Prior to losing my job I was running an exceptional sports program at one of our organizations premier facilities in a very affluent community. However, I was feeling as though I had hit a plateau in my career and professional development due to not having my degree. The next areas of professional growth for me in my field involve becoming an Executive Director or an Association Youth Sports Director, but both of these positions require me to possess a degree. Not having my degree completely removed these career options from my reach and left me trapped in a dead position without much room for future upward growth or mobility. I felt that finding time to continue my education and secure my degree was not an option. Continuing my education was very important for my personal growth and development. Experiencing the rewards of learning both as a student and as certified CPR and Lifeguard instructor of several years I feel strongly about the role that learning plays in an individual’s development. Learning new things helps to keep individuals connected and engaged in the world around us and adds understanding and value to our lives. Learning impacts every part of who we are as human beings and increases the potential for who we......
