God makes a covenant with Abram, promising Abram to make him a great nation, his name great, curse his enemies, and blessings only if Abram would make the journey to Canaan. Attest to his faith, the seventy-five year old Abram left Haran with his wife Sarai, his nephew, and the wealth he had acquired in Haran to the Promise Land of Canaan. Once Abram arrives in Canaan, God calls on him again, promises to give this land to Abram’s descendants. He erects alters throughout the Promised Land to show his devotion to God. After reading this passage, many possible methods stood out as to how one could possibly analyze and interpret this passage. However, after eliminating a few opinions, there are three appropriate exegetical methods to approach this text. First, translation criticism needs to be considered because ancient manuscripts such as the bible consist of many versions and translations. Therefore, translation criticism helps determine the most reliable version of the text and trace the original version through textual evidence within the Hebrew Bible. Then, grammatical translation needs to be taken into account because it helps determine the use of words and tones in which the passage was written. It is important because through the usage of different words and tones as the message within the passage may be conveyed differently. Lastly, historical criticism is also critical for......

...In April 2001 the International Accounting Standards Board adopted IAS 12. IAS 12 has to do with the accounting treatment for Income Taxes. There have been many amendments and changes over the years with the last one being in 2010. The objective of International Accounting Standard 12 is to advise on the accounting treatment for income taxes. The main issue in accounting for income taxes is how to account for the current and future tax consequences of certain items. One item it advises on is the future recovery or settlement of the carrying amount of assets or liabilities that are recognized in an entity’s statement of financial position. The second main item the standard covers is transactions and other events of the current period that are recognized in an entity’s financial statements. It is essential in the recognition of an asset or liability that the reporting entity expects to recover or settle the carrying amount of that asset or liability. If it is probable that the recovery or settlement of that carrying amount will make future tax payments increase or decrease, this standard requires an entity to recognize a deferred tax asset or deferred tax liability with certain limited exceptions. Tax consequences of transactions and events are accounted for in the same way they transactions and events are accounted for. This means that if an event or transaction affects profit or loss then the tax consequence will also affect profit or loss. If an event or......

...spend an additional $750 on expediting the printing of the programs. They would be able to have the programs complete in two days instead of five. Decreasing the total time required for this activity from 60 to 57 days. If people are pulled into other priorities and don’t have the time to devote to completing the photos and bios of the cast as quickly as needed this option would allow to delay the start of the task. However considering there is 52 days of slack time along this stream; money can be better spent in other places to speed up tasks along the critical path. A decrease in the number of rehearsals required is another viable option to help reduce the time along a critical path. The current plan is to hold 3 rehearsals per week for 12 weeks. By eliminating a week or two weeks would reduce the time from 112 days to 105 or 98 days. This would bring the total time required down to what is currently available due to the final exam period and shutdown over Christmas. However reducing the amount of rehearsals may not create the professional look that is needed and the overall performance may be affected. On opening night the need is there to create a very professional feel around the operetta so the buzz can be created around campus and more tickets will be sold. Another option surrounding rehearsals is to increase the number from 3 a week to 4 a week which will reduce the time required for this task from 84 days to 63 days. By increasing the number per week still......

.... 1 CHAPTER I The Problem Introduction Faced with stiffer economic competition and worried about the skills of the future work forces, the government lead by the President of the Philippines and his Department of Education Secretary are trying to connect education from preschool through post secondary so that more students are prepared for further study and work. In October 5, 2010, the recent program on Philippine Education as part of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s Educational Reform Program was the instituting of the K – 12 Education Plan. From his 10 point Educational agenda he cited: 12 – Years Basic Education Cycle I will expand the basic education cycle, from a 10 year cycle to a globally comparable 12 years, for our public school children. At present, those who can afford basic education get into the best universities and the best jobs after graduation. Universal preschooling for all public schools children will have preschool as their introduction to formal schooling by 2016, and we will make this available to all children regardless of income. The Pnoy Administration believes that adding more years to basic education in the Philippines could help solve the problems of unemployment, keep with global standards, and help Pilipino students to have more time to choose the career that best suits their skills. 2. 2 Psychologically speaking, the short education program affects human development of the Pilipino children. A Pilipino is legally a child before he or...

In the quarter, increased investments were made within marketing and IT development as well as for online and catalogue sales, where the company sees great potential for future growth. Also an increase of the staffing in the stores had a certain effect on costs in the fourth quarter. Profit after financial items amounted to SEK 7,178 m (7,992). Adjusted for currency exchange translation effects arising when the results in H&M’s various markets are converted from the local currency into Swedish kronor, the profit after financial items would have been in line with the previous year The stock-in-trade increased by 12 percent compared to the same time the previous year and amounted to SEK 11,487 m (10,240). In local currencies, the increase was 16 percent. The composition of the closing stock-in-trade was good with a larger proportion of new garments compared to same time the previous year. The company estimates that markdowns in relation to sales during the first quarter of 2011 will be on the same level as in the first quarter 2010.
