Empty Vessels Make A Loud Sound
Assalamualaikum and a very good morning I bid to my English teacher, Pn Nik Elida and my fellow friends. Today I am going to deliver a public speaking entitled Empty Vessels Make A Loud Sound.
We can see that when empty vessels make a loud sound when struck with something. But filled vessels do not make much sound. This proverb has a hidden level of meaning. There are people around us who are like empty vessels or like filled vessels. Empty vessels refer to empty headed people who are the most talkative and noisy. These people go on speaking continuously, but their speeches are meaningless. They boast that they can do this and that. Such people are not to be taken seriously. They talk much and are short of action.
Filled vessels refer to people who talk less and do more. Every word uttered by them will be meaningful and so they have to be taken seriously. They talk sensibly and their words carry weight. They won’t boast, but are capable of doing everything that they say. They talk only when it is necessary. These people believe more in action than in words. Serious people do not preach. A man who has only a little knowledge boasts that he is a scholar whereas a really profound scholar would not boast of his scholarship. His scholarship is made known to others through his sensible words and good deeds. So it is said that empty vessels make the most sound.
It could also be taken to mean that people who don't think a lot or reason make silly statements about subjects they know little or nothing about. Have you ever noticed the person in a group who seems to want to be heard above everyone else? They tend to talk loudly and want everyone to be impressed by what they have to say. Usually this sort of person has little of real value to add to a conversation but enjoy the attention they think they're getting. I am…...

Case Study It Is Brand New but Make It Sound Familiar

...Marketing and Innovation Case Study Chapter 8: “It is brand new, but make it sound familiar” (NY Times, 4 Oct 2009) * When companies develop innovative products and service that don’t obviously fit into established categories, manage need to help people understand what comparison to make Without this step, potential customers might just walk away wondering “What is it?” * Normally, people instinctively sort and classify things this is how me make sense of a complex world * Basic traits of behavior : When people encounter something they don’t recognize, they make sense of it by associating it with something familiar * Example: “Horseless carriage” use the word “horse” to make people understand the function of the “car” (like a carriage but don’t have horse) giving a clear point of comparison * What category you place something in has a huge influence on how you view its basic properties features to expect & when and how you should use that item * People will place the same item in different categories, depending on what cues they are given * Companies can benefit by using comparisons to create expectations that best match an innovation’s strengths * Example: Tap ‘n Tap company * develop a touchscreen device that combines multiple household applications including communications (e-mail, chat), web-based information access (weather, news), household management (family calendars) and entertainment (videos, e-books) * The......

Vessels and Honour

...VESSELS OF HONOUR But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. I normally use to think this scripture was for some special group of people till I met four lepers at the entrance of the city gate. Rejected by all but chosen by God to fulfil his prophecy these Lepers did not only have faith but also Love. In times when women killed their kids for food, these lepers thought of the nation when they took over a camp by the workings of God. Israel had an army that God could have used but God chose the four lepers instead. In life we mostly consider ourselves unworthy because of rejections we face in the hands of men. We look down on ourselves because something we lack or feel we lack and say we are not good enough. But God thinks otherwise if we are faithful to Him and try our best to please Him. God doesn't make mistakes and does not wish anyone to suffer but to give Love, Peace and Joy to all men. You may think God has abandoned you but God is positioning you to fulfil His prophecy. Whenever you are rejected by those you Love tell yourself, “they might be doing it for evil but God is turning it into good, and that many may be saved". BY APOGEE...

The Empty Vessel Makes the Loudest Sound

.... I have always found during my official career that persons who speak softly commanded greater respect than the loud ones. Perhaps the soft manner gives an impression of wisdom, conviction and seriousness unless proved contrary by the words spoken. Even in discussions during meetings, people who normally speak softly raise their voices when an opposite view point is expressed as if loudness of tone would impart greater validity or strength to their views. This in turn is met with louder outbursts reducing the meeting often to Babel of voices. We are witness almost daily to such undesirable trait in the several panel discussions or debates taking place in TV. On the other hand if the voice is kept low and not loud, it will generally create a soothing and conducive climate with others also following suit. The discussions would then be meaningful and participative and everyone would turn to be attentive. If you watch TV carefully you will see really successful and great people speak slowly and softly carrying their points across effectively while loud people who rush their words exhibit lack of confidence. Although one’s voice is determined at the time of birth, I think a soft voice can be developed with some effort and practice. A loud voice sticks out like a sore thumb in a crowd. Generally a loud voice is associated with boorish nature, anger, dissatisfaction or being upset or agitated. A loud man is some what akin to a bull in china shop. A streak of aggressive behavior...

Sound

...Every sound we hear around us is also part of our lives. If we look at the other side of sound, it could be our memory or rewind us back to our childhood time. Sounds come from everywhere, everything, and such as: animals, nature include weather, or objects in the environment. For me, I hear a lot of sounds in my whole life. Some of the sounds I hear can make me think back of my childhood’s memories. Summer season almost approach to us. Sound that most reminds me of the summer are related to insect, weather, and natural. Surprisingly enough, insect is the most annoying bugs at night in the summer. They are everywhere, from the grass to the trees. One night in summer day, I was sitting outside in the balcony in the dark and couldn’t see things well because I lit the candles. I heard the “buzz, zee” sound around my ear; I knew some kind of bee around me. I was terrified that night because I would look horrible if I got stung. I immediately blew the candle so the bee couldn’t see me. Lucky me, it flew away after a few minutes. Bumble bees are a big nightmare to me. So every time I see bees, I remember that night. It was a scary night but also a memory in summer. Bumble bees are friendly to some people but it is my enemy. Summer is the season of rain, thunderstorm and lightning. Everyone likes rain because it cleans out all the dirt and pollen from the trees. When I see rain, I remember my six- grade school year in my country. Back then, we wore uniform when we went to school...

...Empty Fake happiness is still the worst sadness. It's so sad to think about how many beautiful people are living every day hating themselves. First, it starts off on insecurities, of not being good enough for a certain someone, for your family, for the society. Then, the next thing you know is you are depressed. Depression doesn't exempt anyone, whether you are a poor person that has nothing, or you are rich that could get everything in just a snap of your fingers. Depression is like drowning but not being able to save yourself, so you just kind of gave up and let the deep, dark ocean take you. It feels like you're too sad to cry and too tired to sleep, and you just feel nothing. You have this empty feeling in your chest, and no matter what you do, you can't fill it out. Sometimes, the emptiness you feel is just too much and there's only so much a person could take, and then they just give up. Now, hurting yourself thinking you deserve it is such a hard thing to stop. It's like a drug, it takes you away from reality, and the next thing you know, you're in too deep, and it's too late to go back. So before this unhealthy habit starts, we need to prevent it from happening to us, to our loved ones. People are like pieces of paper. Once you tear them apart, you can't fix them. No matter what you do or say they will never be how they once are. Depressed people lack love from the people around them, so they just make their own world where they could be happy, blocking the people......

A Sound

...I remember a sound in my dream that was telling me that I should make the most out of my life. The sound was saying that I am the captain of my own ship. However, I ignored the sound because I thought that I had all that I ever wanted in life. After waking up in the morning, I thought to myself. I reflected on all the terrible things I had done with my life and thought that the sound was right. However, I told myself that it was just but a dream. Little did I know that the sound was trying to drive me out of the bad things that I was doing into engaging into a righteous lifestyle. However, I thought that a righteous lifestyle was meant for those people who were desperate in life. I therefore continued to live my life as I used to without caring about tomorrow. However, after I was declared jobless and I had spent all my resources on lavish activities, I sat down and thought about the voice that was once telling me to refrain from the lavish activities. I started thinking that the voice in my dreams was trying to direct me on the right path but I ignored it. Now is the high time that I am beginning to think of the things that I should have done when I first heard the voice in my dreams telling me that I should make the most out of my life. I am now aware that I should have listened to the inner voice that was telling me about molding my life when I still had the chance to do it....
