Comparing the love story of “All that heavan Allows” (Der Blaue Engel) 1930 and
"Angst Essen Seele auf" (Ali: Fear eats the Soul) 1974.

Introduction “All that heaven allows” and “Ali: eats the soul “ are both 20th century German movies. The scope of this paper will focus more on their love stories and how “mise-en-scene” is used in the films, including shots, sound and relating the historically events at time the movies were made. In contrast “Ali: fear eats soul” is written and directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. It is referred as one of the biggest work masterpiece of Fassbinder in the new German cinema.[1] This film is based on discrimination against Guest works in Germany specially Moroccans. Though both are compelling in different ways, they hold more similarities than you may realize.

...Love Story I used to think that I was just meant to be alone, that I never would find the right one. Sometimes I would stop to take a look at myself and think that maybe there was something wrong with me. Maybe I was so broken that no one could fix it. I usually take wise decisions in my life. But every time love came around everything changed. I put my heart on a silver plate and got the little pieces that were left from it thrown back at me. I was giving up on love and of all I ever thought love was. And then I met him. “It is scary”, I told him and shrugged. He laughed at me. “What do you mean?” “Well… what if we fall for each other and then it all goes to hell?” He looked at me and answered quickly: “Yeah, what if that happens? But what if it doesn’t.” I took a deep breath. This is how it is; you can take several steps back when someone else takes just a little tiny step forward. You can protest and say “Wow, back off! I didn’t come here to give my heart away and slowly dig down needle-sharp nails in it. That has been happening way too many times before”. You can do that. Or you can run up to him and start laughing while you’re kissing him. It is like choosing between always having a gray sky or having sunshine with risk of a few showers. Do you see how easy it was? “Jamie, you can’t go on like this. You have to start living again”. I knew Lydia was right, but my body didn’t seem to cooperate with my brain. A Love Story

...A LOVE STORY: LOVE FOR GOD & LOVE FOR YOUR FELLOW MAN!!!! The Bible tells us that ‘God is love’. (1 John 4:16). So it is fair to read that great passage in 1 Corinthians 13 in the light of how God’s love is expressed to us.   1 Cor 13:4-8 ‘ God’s love is patient, God’s love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, God’s love keeps no record of wrongs. God’s love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. God’s love never fails.   Now, why is this all so important? Well, it’s because our understanding and experience of God’s love plays a huge part in our love, acceptance, and relationships with other people. For we tend to treat others as we think God treats us. So understanding God’s love for you is not an end in and of itself. The end is that you may share that love with others. Paul tells us what he was trying to achieve through his teaching in 1 Tim 1:5 ‘But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart.’ But how does this come about? We love, John tells us, because He loved us first. (1 John 4:19) And it can also be said that we tend to love in proportion to the love we have experienced from God. So while these points are probably not new, allow God to speak them to your heart once again.   God’s love acts!   Rom 5:8 ‘But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still......

Love Story

...I've never been lucky in love. i always predicted the end of every relationship I've been through , I expected every single word I've been told, every little fake emotion i thought real so far. All along this road, i was guided by an angel. the one who protected me from harm, wiped away my tears. The one who brought this joy and happiness to my life. He was a bright angel. a shiny diamond. Suddenly out of nowhere He became the main character of my most beautiful and painful relationship. He was the charming prince of my story, the beast in0 my nightmare. Still i couldn't keep grudge against him, because above all he was and still is my best friend. the one i loved just like a brother, the one i shared my secrets with just like a shadow. The beginning of the relationship was as sudden and blurry as its ending. I won't lie and say i was fine with it. it hurt deeply. But as i like to say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. and i think both of us are today. 6 months after "the crash" things started over. But this time it's much more different. we grew up, learned from our mistakes, and we do know unlike the first time the risks and damages it would cause to play with each other's feelings. how do i feel after all that?. Love Story

...hi i am swarupa"Love Story" We were both young when I first saw you. I close my eyes and the flashback starts: I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air. See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns. See you make your way through the crowd And say, "Hello," Little did I know... That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles, And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet" And I was crying on the staircase Begging you, "Please don't go" And I said... Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone. I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run. You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess, It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes." So I sneak out to the garden to see you. We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew So close your eyes... escape this town for a little while. Oh, oh. 'Cause you were Romeo – I was a scarlet letter, And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet." But you were everything to me, I was begging you, "Please don't go." And I said... Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone. I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run. You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess. It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes." Romeo, save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel. This love is difficult but it's real. Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess. It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes." Oh, oh. I got tired of waiting Wondering if you were ever coming around. My faith in you was fading When I met you on......

...instead resting his decision on the lack of consideration. Unfortunately there is some doubt about this because in a different report of Stilk v Myrick (1809) 6 Esp 129 it is said that Lord Ellenborough ‘recognised the principle of the case of Harris v Watson as founded on just and proper policy’. Campbell’s report (which is the one we have used above) is generally regarded as more likely to be accurate than that of Espinasse. However, in a detailed examination of the two reports and of the historical background, P Luther ‘Campbell, Espinasse and the Sailors’ (1999) 19 Legal Studies 526 argues that to ignore Espinasse’s report would be over-simplistic. If in this sort of case the real justification for refusing to enforce the promise is the fear of opening the door to duress, would it be clearer to distinguish consideration and duress by saying that there is a contract supported by consideration but that it may be voidable in a particular case because of duress? On the facts of Stilk v Myrick there was no evidence that the seamen had made any demand, express or implied, for extra wages so that it is unlikely that duress could have been established. In Stilk v Myrick and Harris v Watson the members of the crew were not promising to do more than they were already bound contractually to do: ie the contract required the crew to deal with emergencies. For a case where consideration was found because the sailors were being required to go outside their existing contract, see Hartley......

Love Story

...Love Story Hi, my name is Mya and I am from a little town in Drums, PA. My mother and I moved to Pittsburgh, PA. to live a city life. I started a new high school called Central Catholic. I met a girl name Moriah, and we clicked right away. We were different from everybody else. Moriah was the only person who understands me. We joined this gothic group and became friends with Mike. The three of us were the best of friends. We did everything together and told each other everything. As we got closer, I started to develop a crush on Mike. I didn’t tell anybody because I didn’t want to mess up our friendship. Mike had a girlfriend, but I didn’t care. As we got closer, he started to notice that I had feelings for him. Mike and his girlfriend had taken a break. That was my moment to make my move. Mike and I were officially dating. Moriah, Mike, and I were still the best of friends and still did everything together until Mike and his ex-girlfriend’s break was over, and they got back together. Mike didn’t even tell me; I had to find out myself. I was hurt and I would do anything to get back with Mike. I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I even made a love note for him to let him know how much that I loved him. “ The first time I met you, I thought we were just best friends’, until my feelings grew stronger. I never thought I would like you, but now I think of you everyday. When you make me smile I want to leave everything behind and stay with you. I fell in love, but...

...pure and sincere love that in my opinion could ever exist. Every once in while we get asked questions about the past. I really don't mind answering because why deny it, if eventually the truth comes out. However, there's been many occasions where people "misinterpreted" my explanation and tell others and unwanted drama starts again. Whenever my parents hear false statements being said yeah, they give me the "the talk", "why the heck are you holding on? What are gaining out of it? Is this really worth it?" Yes it gets to me but when he tells me what he has heard, it tears me down miserably. Doubts and insecurities drain on me harshly. What if one day he can't take it anymore nonsense and decides it has no future? What if it's me? After so much why now? Although I don't say it to him personally, he gives me and our relationship more strength to keep moving on even though he's hurt by the comments. Despite all that, Ivan I just want you to know and the whole world how proud I am to be with such an amazing man. Thanks for being my light in the darkness, dealing with my mood swings, but most importantly for caring and protecting me from things that potentially can hurt me. I know my parents as well as others lack to see that on you but those who believe in us know your true intentions. Every tear, disappointment, laugher, happiness that we have lived I wouldn't trade it or even you! Amor, I love you so much! It will take infinite infnities to explain why our love is worth it. ......

Comparing “the Story of an Hour” and “the Necklace”

...Comparing “The Story of an Hour” and “The Necklace” Short stories are always very enjoyable to read. They are very concise but mostly have such a deep message resonating throughout the text that the reader is left pondering over an extension of the story to imagine the possible ending if they were novels instead. The works under consideration are meant to be compared because of their unique theme which reflects how two authors can write similar yet distinctive stories in different times. Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour” and “The Necklace” by Guy De Maupassant are two such short stories whose themes center around role of gender and marriage with special focus on the female characters. Even though there are similarities, there are also differences which I plan on discussing in more detail, differences such as the two female characters one experiences death while the other a lesson from life. “The Story of an Hour” revolves around the female character Louise Mallard who has been gently told that her husband died in a railroad disaster, news which Richard, her husband’s friend learnt from somewhere. Since Mrs. Mallard is a heart patient she feels very depressed and seeks to sit in solitude as she learns about her husband Brently’s death. As the story unfolds one learns that Louise Mallard is in fact more “free” and utters the word repeatedly as she realizes that she will be independent from this time onwards. She fantasizes her freedom staring blankly out the window......
