Notting Hill (1999) Comedy | Romance
Every man's dream comes true for William Thacker, an unsuccessful Notting Hill bookstore owner, when Anna Scott, the world's most beautiful woman and best-liked actress, enters his shop. A little later, he still can't believe it himself, William runs into her again - this time spilling orange juice over her. Anna accepts his offer to change in his nearby apartment, and thanks him with a kiss, which seems to surprise her even more than him. Eventually, Anna and William get to know each other better over the months, but being together with the world's most wanted woman is not easy - neither around your closest friends, nor in front of the all-devouring press.
Here is only a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her.

The fame thing isn't really real, you know?
And don't forget I'm--
I'm also just a girl... standing in front of a boy... asking him to love her.

Teletrabajo

Discussion of Tax Issue on Claiming Dependant

...determined on a separate basis as if they had not been married (section 121 (b) (2) (B)). Since Ted would not have owned the house if he had not married to Ruth, the amount of gain they can exclude shall not exceed $250,000. Now let us look at how much gain will be realized on the sale. According to section 1014 (a) (1), basis of Ruth’s house, from which she inherited from her mother, shall be the fair market value ($315,000) upon Ruth mother’s death. Given that the selling price is $700,000, Ted and Ruth realize $385,000 gain. But the couple can only exclude $250,000 of the gain on sale of the house from their gross income and recognize the rest $135,000. Since personal residence falls within the definition of a capital asset under section 1221 (a), the $135,000 is recognized as capital gain. Another issue in our case is related to their beach house. Expenses for a vacation home are not deductible under Section 280(A) (a) if such house is used by the taxpayer as a residence. Section 280(A)(d)(1) states that the taxpayer is treated as using the house as residence if during the year, he uses such dwelling unit for personal purposes for a number of days exceeding the greater of 14 days or 10% of rental days. In our case, I assume “frequent use” means more than 14 days, but more information is needed. Section 280(A)(d)(2)(A) further explains that use of the house by family members (as defined in section 267(c)(4)) qualifies as personal use. In conclusion, upon sale of......

Life of St. Dominic

... and he enjoyed a warm friendship with the Poor Man of Assisi which is still commemorated in the liturgies of the Franciscan and Dominican Orders. Several times he was consoled and strengthened in his apostolate by apparitions of Christ and his Mother.  Four times Dominic journeyed on foot to the Eternal City where Pope Honorius III confirmed his Order and granted him the convent of St. Sixtus for his nuns and that of Santa Sabina for his friars. He made foundations in university cities to ensure an adequate education for the brethren. On August 15, 12 17, he scattered his men to various parts of Europe saying: “If grain is sown it bears fruit, but if it is stored it rots.” The Founder summoned two General Chapters in 1220 and 1221 and lived to witness the amazing expansion of his Order. He was felled by sheer exhaustion after his last mission in Lombardy at the age of fifty-one. After making a general confession, he said to his weeping brethren: “Do not weep, my children, I shall be more useful to you where I am going than I have ever been in this life. I thank God who has preserved me in perfect virginity to this day. Have charity, guard humility, keep voluntary poverty.” He fell asleep in Christ on August 6, 12 21, at Bologna where his relics now lie in a marble tomb of exquisite beauty, the work of Nicholas Pisano (1160-1265). The tomb was later embellished by Michelangelo and other artists, and may be seen in the Dominican church at Bologna. From heaven, the......

St. Dominic

...while the other manuscripts were consumed. Afterward, St. Dominic petitioned the Pope for the right to establish a new religious order dedicated to preaching. Having others besides priests being able to preach were a new idea at the time, and St. Dominic carried it farther by requesting that these new preachers be able to cross diocesan boundaries. His idea was to preach the Gospel to people wherever they needed it. He was known to travel by foot, often barefoot, living a very austere life wherever he roamed, but preaching with great fervor. In 1215 the Bishop of Toulouse offered the use of a house and church in Toulouse, and it was here that the original Dominican order was founded. By the time of his death only six years later in 1221, the Dominican order had spread widely and friaries could be found in larger cities in Western Europe. Thirteen years after his death, in 1234, he was canonized by Pope Gregory IX. The life of Saint Dominic, works and death were marked by quiet piety and unceasing devotion to the hard work of spreading the Gospel during a turbulent time. He believed in education because an educated person could read the Bible and Dominic had no doubt would then make the informed decision to switch to Catholicism. In the centuries since his death and canonization the Dominican friars have become renowned for their dedication to teaching as well as study of the Holy Scriptures. Their motto "To praise, to bless, to preach" sums up the core of......

Fibonacci

...had presented a basic overview of basic arithmetic and algebra. However, he had also exposed a new alternative computing method for the replacement of having to use an abacus for arithmetical operations and was based on written algorithms rather counting objects. First, he discussed common finger computations and the use of Roman numerals as they were common to Europe at that time. Then he introduced the Hindu/Arabic numerals and describes the Arabic rules to working with them. The book also examined root extraction, a variety of word problems, and practical problems of value to the merchants at that time for the calculation of interest or problems that concerned exchange rates and profit margins. Fibonacci composed his second work in 1220-1221, and was called “Practica Geometriae”. The work primarily focuses on the works of ancient Greek masters such as Euclid, Archimedes, and Plato of Tivoli. The book’s discussion is predominantly on quadratic equations and the examination of solutions. It also gives instructions for a practical surveyor, the explanations to others’ work, and indeterminate problems. In 1225, his work, “Flo” was sent to Emperor Fredrick II as a response to problems set forth by Johannes of Palermo. He had showed that the solution to the equation was not a whole, fraction, or any of Euclidean irrational magnitudes, but a rational approximation of the solution. The third and final problem is the solution to a series of indeterminate equations. His fourth major......

Discussion— The success rate of the amplified CO1 DNA seemed to be very low. This might have been due to the lack of experience in handling the procedure and equipment or that the there was an error in the provided primers and/or buffers that were provided (as seen in Table 1 and the gels). This tested the convenience and accuracy of DNA bar coding using the materials provided. Due to the lack of the success rate of the amplified mitochondrial CO1 genes and how some of the sequences provided for the “wild cards” did not......
